Night Guard
A night guard (occlusal splint) is a protective appliance custom-made for the mouth and worn during sleep. It is used to prevent tooth wear, jaw joint (TMJ) pain and the resulting headaches in patients with a teeth-grinding (bruxism) or clenching habit.
How Is a Night Guard Made?
First, an impression of the mouth is taken. From the model obtained from this impression, a night guard is produced in a laboratory from a clear or hard acrylic material, custom-made for the individual. When the guard is delivered, its fit is checked and fine adjustments are made if necessary.

How to Use
The night guard is fitted every night before sleep, removed in the morning, rinsed with clean water and stored. Regular use both prevents tooth wear and keeps the jaw muscles more relaxed throughout the night.
