Porcelain Dental Crown
Porcelain dental crowns renew the shape, colour and function of a tooth either by bonding a thin layer of porcelain onto the natural tooth, or by fabricating crowns with porcelain fused onto a ceramic substructure.

Stages of the Procedure
Treatment consists of tooth preparation (minor material removal), taking an impression, laboratory production of the porcelain crown, a shade-matching check (comparison with shade-matching tablets as in the image above), and finally a try-in in the mouth followed by cementation.

A porcelain crown can be preferred for teeth that have changed colour, are worn, chipped or cracked, and for minor irregularities in tooth alignment.
